Bo
Sang Umbrella Festival is held in January in Bo San g Handicraft Centre. The festival features paper products, paper parasols in particular, cultural shows, a parade showing traditional ways of life, and several contests.

Flower Festival is held in February. The festival includes ornamental garden flower contests, floral floats parade in the morning and beauty pageants. The parade begins at Chiang Mai Railway Station and passes Nawarat Bridge and ends at Nong Buak Hat Park.

Songkran Festival is held annually from 13 to 15 April. The 13 th of April is the Great Songkran day featuring the revered Phra Phutthasihing Buddha image parade around Chiang Mai town for bathing, sand pagoda making, blessing of elders, and water splashing.

Doi Suthep Pilgrimage On the night of Visakha Bucha Day, worshippers gather to light candles and make the 7-kilometre pilgrimage up to the temple on Doi Suthep.


City Pillar Inthakin Festival
is held to invoke blessings of peace, happiness and prosperity for the city and its residents. Buddha images are paraded around the city. It is held at Wat Chedi Luang for 7 auspicious days and nights in the 7 th lunar month.

Yi Peng Festival  is held annually on Loi Krathong day. It is a very interesting event of Chiang Mai. The festival features the release of lanterns into the sky to worship the gods. There are also fireworks, lantern contests, and beauty pageants.

Pattaya offers more than just an exciting nightlife and the beach. In addition to the sports, island tours, traditional Thai massage, and shopping there's also a number of unusual attractions worth a visit. Take a look....



The Million Years Stone Park And Pattaya Crocodile Farm
Beautifully landscaped grounds which include rock gardens, plant fossils over a million years old, 200 year old Thai style bonsai trees, and a collection of rare albino bears, elephants and horses, and crocodiles. Elephant Village
Demonstrations by working elephants with entertaining performances and wild elephant round-ups daily. Elephant rides are also available. Situated on Pornprapanimit Road in the same direction as Phanarak Park and the Siam Country Club Golf Course.

Fishing
For a quiet afternoon, you can fish in a local fishing parks; ponds or lakes well stocked with local fish, where you can hire equipment. The fishing parks charge around 80 Baht per day and extra for rod hire, bait, etc., (Some parks also charge for fish caught by the kilo, if you want to take your fish away)

If you prefer to go for a big one! The waters around Manwichai, Rin and Kram islands are popular for marlin, king mackerel and barracuda. Offshore fishing trips are organised by many local operators. Enquire at the tour shops.

Go-carts
Great fun at the 400 and 700-metre track at Pattaya go-cart Speedway, at Mini Siam, K.R. Go-cart Grandprix and the 1,090-metre track for professional drivers at the Bhira International Circuit.

Horse Riding
Available at the Horse Sport Centre at Km. 11 on Route 36 (near the Bhira International Circuit). Mountain and jungle rides on Australian thoroughbreds. Riding lessons are also available.

Jogging
Lots of jogging opportunities along the promenades facing Pattaya Bay, and along Jomtien Beach. Pattaya Fitness Park also has a jogging track which is part of the pleasantly landscaped park (located near the summit of Pattaya hill.) Certain hotels also have jogging tracks.

Lakeland Water Cable Ski
Cable ski around an enormous fresh water lake. Practice your tricks or learn to water-ski, a sport that is quickly gaining popularity. Open daily from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Admission: 300 Baht per person (for around 2 hours) Restaurant services available.

Mini Siam
Located near Pattaya Klang, this miniature city with more than 100 models on a scale of 1:25, has replicas of 80 sacred places and important historical sites around Thailand. Models include the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Bridge over the River Kwai, the Golden Stupa and Pimai Khmer Sanctuary. There are also models of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, London's Tower Bridge, and the Trevi Fountain.

Miniature Racetrack
The Pattaya Speedway has separate tracks for professional and amateur motorcycle riders. Situated on Thepprasit Road, which links Sukhumvit Highway and Pattaya-Na Jomtien Road, approximately 5 kilometres, south of Pattaya. Open daily from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Contact (038)422044 Fax: (038)422041

Motor Racing
The Bhira international Circuit periodically stages international motor and motorcycle racing. Local races take place regularly on Saturdays and Sundays. The 2.4 kilometres track is ideal for Formula 3 racing and you can drive your own two-wheeled or four wheeled vehicles around the challenging track for a nominal fee. Pattaya Water Park
On Thappraya Road, at the top of Jomtien Beach, this fun water park includes gigantic slides and also has an amusement park and Jacuzzi. This is an ideal for families. Admission: 100 Baht for adults and 50 Baht for children.

Parasailing
There are many operators around the resort, and at several hotels. Lan Island has floating platforms where flights can be made above the sea.

Phanarak Park
A privately-owned resort, with a garden that has maintained a natural atmosphere, the park has fish ponds and fishing gear available for rent and a swimming pool. Tents and bungalows are available if you want to stay over.
